Children become part of the social flux as soon as they become teens. The world becomes a huge social circle and they begin to find their cute little places in some part of it. Friends become part of their lives and they want to stick with them to the furthest extent possible.
What, then, can hamper a friendship? Funnily, being overweight is found out to be the second largest reason for group ostracism, after academic weakness. A fat teen is readily bullied, made fun of and lastly, banished by their group of close associates.
This is why more and more teens are adopting any possible weight loss measures. If you see the kind of group that has made the gymnasium a part of their lifestyle, you will definitely find the figure of teens rising up steadily. Right from the late teens, they are beginning to get drawn to various cardio workouts as a quick method of weight loss.
Now, cardio is an able ally for a grown-up. It helps in shaping and toning the body, improving muscle density and augmenting weight loss. But it is done with a lot of technique. Hydration has to be kept into account and so are various other parameters such as duration.
Teens need weight loss at any cost. They are less fearful of the consequences and largely end up getting dehydrated and fatigued. In bad cases, muscle spasm sets in and in worst cases; it can get as bad as a stroke. Teen weight loss measures thus need to be thoroughly checked prior to implementation.
Teen girls are a finicky lot. They can hardly bear any kind of blemish on their face. They worry more then necessary over hairstyles, and their life is doomed if an extra pound raises its mean head at any place on their body. This causes many stark assessments in their mind, and they can invariably lose sleep over the matter.
These days, many great tips are available to help even the “ladies-of –tomorrow” lose weight. However, most of these tips must carefully be checked prior to implementation. Some of them have adverse effects in the long run, few can bring about withdrawal symptoms and some of them have immediate side effects. Therefore teen girls looking to lose weight quick must apply caution.
For instance, girls can lose weight to the point of anorexia by following something like the Atkins’ diet. It can be understood that keeping away from excess carbohydrates and fats are a good idea in itself to lose weight quickly, but even these are parts of balanced diet and are required in nominal amounts for proper metabolic running. Shying away from them completely only causes fatigue, seizures and moreover relapses immediately after stopping the regimen.
Girls of this generation are becoming more understanding, but they must understand that being finicky about the body only hinders the cause even greater. Therefore any weight loss program must come about through a balanced channel.
Parents can help teens achieve weight loss pretty easily. They are the ones who are generally responsible for what the teens eat at home. If the parents stick to structured diets that can be easily processed by the body, there is no reason why teens cannot achieve weight loss.
Teens can be given more fibre at home; moreover even the minerals and vitamins they take in can be checked and given in generous proportions. Fibre helps with roughage, and in addition to this they have high water content. With a greater amount of water in the body, the body does not feel hungry at all.
When parents they take their teens out, they must also remember that too much indulgence can be an impediment. It leads to obesity and makes weight loss difficult for teens in the long run.
Parents can also help their children eat a greater amount of fruits and vegetables during the course of the day - this way a healthy eating habit is formed, which can result in the teens not gaining unhealthy amounts of weight at all.
The parents need to stick to such routines themselves, only then is there a chance that the teens will follow the same. Obviously what they eat at friends’ gatherings can’t easily be checked. But with the right training at home, they should be okay to monitor their food intake when away from their parents.
The world today is infested with a lot of extremities. The life we lead is very crisis-oriented, and we invariably end up in pieces. It all starts very early. Today’s teen is given liberal doses of junk from the time they start their life. All this is still acceptable to an extent, but we tend to disfigure our teens by giving them large meals spread over a long span. Hence, they keep gaining weight and any chance of teen weight loss becomes remote.
They can perhaps find a happy medium with their metabolism because they are young, and many diseases are yet unknown to them, but even they are vulnerable to other effects of an overweight body - for instance, fatigue. Growing up a little, this kind of body not only makes the teen a laughing stock among his friends but also poses the threat of banishment from the friend circle. Teens begin to look for any possible means of weight loss in that case.
The pressure keeps piling on a teen, and they get a complete beating psychologically for not being able to lose weight. Slowly they find a shell for themselves, and start remaining indoors. Have you not seen how gradually, yet steadily, withdrawal symptoms begin to hamper an overweight teen? This might seem a trivial issue but obesity has a lot to do with late-age character debilitation.
Keeping all this in mind, it becomes all the more crucial to keep children away from all such kinds of indulgences, right from very early age. Their minds are not ripe and they can mould to a healthy lifestyle very easily. It can serve them well in a long run.
Diabetes is a dreaded disease. It can branch out to have so many dangerous implications. Combine genetic weaknesses, in addition to a high fat intake, and obesity can lead to early onset of diabetes. The presence of diabetes in teens is statistically proven to be higher than earlier decades.
The reason is quite simple. Teens are indulging more; they do not understand that a faulty metabolism is like losing half the battle straightaway. Moreover, with each passing generation, genetic deformity is increasing. Children thus become vulnerable to such a disease. To fight the onset of diseases like diabetes, teen weight loss measures become highly essential.
Diabetes can be effectively cured as insulin shortfall is recoverable in teens. Diabetes is generally triggered at an early age due to obesity, but it is a lack of insulin that is the prime cause for the disaster. At an early age, thankfully, the insulin deficiency can be revived. Teen weight loss measures are also easier to undergo as the fat that contributes to the adipose tissues are largely unsaturated fats.
Exercising must be made a daily regimen. Exercise schedules can be moderate, but they are required to be steadily practiced. Cardio or weight exercises need not be adhered to. Something as simple as brisk walking is in itself a great exercise for diabetes. For average teen, brisk walking for weight loss is highly recommended.
Infrequent indulgence in food is also not prohibited. What needs to be checked, though, is that indulgence must be sparse.
